Kris-Kindle 2015

So, definitely time to get this malarkey underway for another year. It's €100 per couple again this year and each couple can choose if they will have individual presents or 1 joint one.

Get posting, we've only got a few weeks before things need to be sent. Creativity and hilarity is desired.

The other thing that is desired is wishes for the smalls and clothes sizes if appropriate.

What, no silly suggestions yet as to how the hints should be informed (in the style of a Terry Pratchett fantasy, maybe)

Still, I'm the first...

Mum of nearly all said...

No good doing Terry Pratchett fantasies for me. I've never had a chance to read them.

However, I'm thinking along the lines of asking for some light reading, but as yet don't know how to wrap it up slightly obscurely.

Mind you, I haven't asked him indoors yet if we're doing couples or going singly. We're SO busy we haven't time to even discuss it. AND we're supposed to be retired. What a joke.

Concert with ECCS tomorrow. Music and Meditations for Advent.
Concert with St. Mary's Pope's Quay on Sunday: Faure's Requiem etc.
O.F. is adjudicating the Junior Recital Competition on Dec 4th
Dec 5th 6th and 7th in Lismore Castle
Dec 6th.at 4.00p.m. Advent Carol Service with ECCS in Rushbrooke.
Giving a recital on new organ in Nohoval church on 9th.
and I'll give you an update on the rest in a later blog as its time to walk the dogs.

Happy blogging to you all!

Hi,

Here are some present wishes from FBS and SBS(I have not checked prices in detail).
FBS:
1.A fun fishing game (those board games with some kind of movable fishing pond, and the aim is to catch the most fish).
2. Lego Ninjago (Attack of the Morro dragon/Titan Mech battle/Chain cycle ambush/Condrai copter attack).
3.Trash pack figures and items to do with trash pack
4.Lego minecraft (The desert outpost/The snow hideout)
5. 4 in a row game
6. Game: Stop the Chrono bomb
SBS:
1. Trash pack figures and items
2. Hot Wheels cars in the ballistics series (the cars roll into a ball).
3. Angry birds slippers size 29/30 (wish particularly sent to the Finnish family)
4. Lego train items
5. Lego Speed champions - 458 Italiy GT2
6. Lego 60085 4x4 with Powerboat
7. Lego ninjago (see Une's list - but not two of the same)
8. Nikko RC that drive on snow, water and land (VaporizR)
9. Play-Doh sets
The mum are always happy about nice clothes as well, FBS size 128-134 (he is 124 cm tall now), SBS size 110-116 (he is 104 cm exactly now.

I think Mr. VL has received wish lists for the Irish kids, it would be great if wish lists for the Finnish kids are posted soon!
My aim this year is to get all the kiddies presents done early, both so you receive them in time and so we then can concentrate on complicated KK wishes.

Mum of nearly all said...

Thank you Mrs VL for this comprehensive list.

I've a request that we make public what we're choosing from the list so that we don't all give the same.

I'm going first to have to check out what's available before I can choose, but will post as soon as I know how its going.

Those who are interested will be pleased to know that O F was delighted with last night's Advent music and meditations. It all went really well.
BLS or is it LBS sang so beautifully in the Stanford Mag. It was magic.

Now I've got to prove I'm not a robot. Hoping it doesn't take so long this time.

Mrs VL said...

I have to make some amendments to the list for FBS and SBS. When I showed it to FBS to day he pointed out that I have made some mistakes...
FBS:
Delete list item no. 4 and 5.
Lego Ninjago, delete Condrai copter attack.
SBS:
List item no. 7, Lego Ninjago the following sets (not those on Une's list): Condrai copter attack / Titanium dragon / Anacondai crusher / Jungelbuggy.

Easier to prove I am not a robot on our system now than it used to be:-)

Thanks a million. Grateful for the extra minutes not spent proving I'm thinking (well maybe) being!

Great news. We may be able to act as post if necessary for the Kris Kringle.

Whilst out walking this morning O.F. and I decided that we were getting homesick for the Scandinavian winters, so have asked permission from next door to travel and checked out if we'd be welcome in Norway and Finland.

So lookout we're coming. 29th - 2nd in Hengsrudveien and 2nd - 6th in Luolatie. Can't wait. Catch up on the youngsters and check out the 'oldies'. Make sure you're behaving.

All the very best.

Mrs Other Cold One said...

Dear everyone,
Here are some ideas for our youngsters if anybody is looking for hints.
Older girl:
She loves reading and has started reading books in English too. So anything from a “Top Teens list” would go down well. e.g.
- Pearson, Mary E. The Kiss of Deception.
- Smith, Jennifer E. The Geography of You and Me
- Hush, Hush, Crescendo, Silence or Finale by Becca Fitzpatrick
- Alsaid, Adi: Let’s Get Lost.
- Han, Jenny. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
- Nielsen, Jennifer A. The Shadow Throne.
She also loves baking so some nice baking stuff like a fancy cake tin…

Younger girl:
Water colours for painting
Quality paper for painting

Older boy:
LEGO: especially technical Lego or something in the Ninjago range
A pencil case suitable for a boy

Younger boy:
He really likes building with GeoMacs (which we have),but we don’t have any of the GeoMac panels or GeoMac technic bits.. so he’d love those.
A remote control engine that fits Brio railway

A joint pressie for the boys could also be considered…

I hope these are helpful :-)

Here are our (pretty direct) hints for our Kris Kindle...

2 packets of Jason D4124 Golden Orchid Placemats, Set of 6 (so 12 placemats alltogether)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003HC78Q2?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_9&smid=ALUTVAC0ENY18
matching coasters seem unfortunately to be unavailable at the moment

Is this wish seems complicated to fullfill, other ideas would be:

- good quality wooden or stainless steel salad servers (not tongs)

- good quality heat resistant (no burn) double oven gloves e.g.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0102YHARE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_3&smid=A3OVJRJYVT5BA4

The Bride and Groom to be said...

Hi Everyone,
Afraid we won't be very cryptic either this year with our suggestion,

We have walked the house in search of something we would really like and have a few suggestions...

Our sit on top Kayaks have rubbish seats so we would love an upgrade...

Here is a suggestion:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231306872832?rmvSB=true

Our Kayaks are Winner Velocity but as far as we can see any seat will work once it has clip in attachments.

Our hand held blender is dying a slow death so this could also be an option. A hand held would be great but a multi function blender with hand held option would be even better.

That's all we can come up with for now but of course if anything else comes up we will add it to the list.

Happy shopping :-)

Our Father saith

This Kriskrindle thing is super fun
And lifts the winter gloom
Each time I blog I see a Mum
with my grandchild in her womb!

Mum of Sum said...

I can't be outdone by our father,
I've a request now too,
Its as I said in the beginning (of the blogs)
some light reading for me and you.

I got for my 60th birthday
a hundred years ago,(or so it seems)
The first book in a series
by Alexander McQueen

Oh no, that isn't the right name
Must not upset kin and kith,
The books are by a man called
Alexander McCall Smith

In the many years that have past
since my last significant birthday
I have acquired and enjoyed
The first twelve of the storay.

(Apologies......couldn't find anything else to rhyme with Birthday)

Now there is number thirteen,fourteen,
fifteen and even sixteen waiting to be read
Lovely light hearted stories
which are good to read in bed.

Now you are asking what series
I'd better give you a clue.
They are about a lady
who uses clues to solve mysteries too.

So to my dear kris krindle
Please if you can fulfil this wish,
I'd be for ever grateful and
will hug you with a squish.

(This is the worst poetry ever written, but I hope you, dear Kris Krindle, will be able to work out what I'd like.) Thank you!

Mum of Sum said...

Dear Kris Krindle, I have another desire and Our father saith that its quite alright for me to get more this year as last year he had the lion's share!

Yesterday, when I was cooking in next door, it occurred to me that what I need in the kitchen more than anything else is a fine metal sieve. It needs to be big enough to sieve flour and icing sugar and also to rinse long grain rice.

This acquisition will complete my kitchen utensils and I will be a much better cook (or maybe not).

Dear Kris Kringle,

Steve and I have decided to wish for our own presents this year. I've had my eye on a bangle as follows: https://www.hobbs.co.uk/product/display?productid=0215-1B04-100900 and some black leather gloves like these: http://www.marksandspencer.com/leather-water-repellent-ruched-gloves/p/p22376930?extid=ps_gglpla_UK_Gen_,Women%20_PLAWomen%20--%3E%20Winter%20Collection%20--%3E%20Scarves%20&%20Gloves%20--%3E%20Gloves_M&S%20Leather%20Stitch%20Detail%20Gloves%20BLACK%20Large&s_kwcid=AL!2750!3!%7Bcreative%7D!%7Bmatchtype%7D!%7Bplacement%7D!%7Bnetwork%7D!%7Bproduct_partition_id%7D!&ef_id=USox-wAABU22mByP:20151213174306:s

The days are passing and someone out there are waiting for my wish. One day I hope to find the poet inside, but if more delays are to be avoided, this year will not be the time. Two rough nights with SBS, that has a rotten cold, does not help to bring out creativity either. Here therefore only the plain old fashioned list:

Thin wool socks, 2016 wall calendar (1 month each page and reasonable space each day to write a few notes), large good quality towel(around 90x 170 cm), oven gloves, pestle and mortar, books: "The Spirit Level: Why Greater Equality Makes Societies Stronger" by Pickett and Wilkinson, "Discovering statistics using SPSS" by Andy Field, the Norwegian book you find on this page: "Storbanrsliv": http://www.norli.no/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10651&urlLangId=-101&productId=2319957&urlRequestType=Base&langId=-101&catalogId=10051 and some new music (CD), e.g. Bjork:Vulnicura, Father John Misty: I love you, honeybear.

Good luck my kris kindle - should be easy with such a long list - and I will still be surprised:-)

In this country, it is difficult to find items that are suitably high up on the Scoville scale. I have been disappointed numerous times. Even though they may look the part, they always seem to lack the punch. To get around this issue, I have a cunning plan. To get the seeds of my plan sown I first need them and, albeit not the first place one would look, I have found just the supplier in the south of the UK's next most southerly county (I think). I quite like the look of their Magnificent seven, I would like a pack of one of the extremely hot varieties and something family friendly, mild or little to no heat. And anything else that takes your fancy.

Viking Longship said...

P.S. Some of the items on my wife's list could be deemed as common, so a 50/50 split is not essential for such items and I too could use a new towel, but I guess that will blow the budget for my wish.

Oh dear.

Mrs TOCO

Your first wishes appears to be unavailable. Out of stock. No idea whether or when it will be in again.

Is it possible to look again and choose something else.

We are so sorry and hope you will see this in time to give us another thought.

Also, did Mr TOCO have anything else to add?

Anonymous would have liked to delete the above message, but doesn't know how.

So Please Mr and Mrs TOCO ignore the above.

Insufficient research had been done and there was panic for a short while!

Dear all,

Ever so sorry for the late entry, and for the lack of creativity in the presentation of my wishes!

The things I would really like this Christmas are...

1. The new Jamie Oliver Book "Jamie Oliver's Super food"

2. A decentish frying pan suitable for an electric hob.

3. The most recent Robert Harris book.

4. A "Bobble" water bottle.

5.

Hope these help!

Meanwhile we have boxes of children's stuff hurtling their way to Norway and Finland and would appreciate it if the recipients let us know that they had arrived safe and sound.

Brilliant, I do believe that everyone has put up their wishes. I do hope that those faced with working out what people want can sort out the anagrams and cryptic messages.

Because I'm trying hard at present, but haven't managed the answers.
