Kris-Kindle 2019

It's that time of year again. Here's the yearly Kris Kindle post.

By one whole day we are still 14 and it has been decided that we will work in couples again. With 50, 25, 20 and 15 year wedding anniversaries between us this year it would be a shame not to do enjoy KK with our partners...!!!!

Inflation has hit KK and it's €150 per couple this year.

It has also been requested that kids presents wishes be posted here and not on Whatsapp....

So, no time like the present, give us your clues and let's open the fun!!!

This year we are planning a December with only fun and no chores...impossible? Well to achieve that we need some help. This is to all the parents of children under 18. Please post present wishes for kids here ASAP :-) !

And, we will do our bit. Here is some initial ideas for our kids:

FBS:
Gift card from Amazon or similar netshop
Minecraft magazine/book
DVD- Wreck-it Ralph or Wreck-it Ralph breaks the internet
Travel case for his JBL Charge 3 (please check if somebody else goes for this so we don't get two of them).

SBS:
Mine Craft Top Trumphs cards
DVD- Rise of the guardians
Lego....but hold on a bit, he would like to check latest catalogue and come back with specific sets.
Amazon gift card.

TBS:
Duplo train tracks.
Brio train bridges and fun track parts(have enough trains really).
Hot wheels tracks.
Disney Cars Mini Racers raceway/tracks.
Other suitable presents for highly active 4 year olds.

Once again, please be aware that anything sent directly from an overseas internet shop to us can land us with a customs bill that is nearly as big as the present is worth so get in touch with Mr VL if you are unsure or would like to find another solution for purchasing/shipping...

I am sorry for the lack of imagination but what we wish for is outside of the budget but can be bought at a reduced price during the upcoming black Friday sales.

We would like to add to our speaker collection in the house. It is a Sonos Play 1 speaker in black.

https://www.whathifi.com/news/the-best-sonos-play1-deal-is-in-the-currys-black-friday-sale

Ikea also do a Sonos compatible speaker that would also work just as well in our home.

Thank you and sorry for the lack of imagination

The junior member of our family would love a very cool trybike balance bike for Christmas this year.

https://www.littleones.ie/toys/on-the-move/balance-bikes.html/2in1-trybike-vintage-steel-blue.html

As this gift is a big gift and a more long term investment we would like to ask for small monetary donations towards his new bike.

Of course if you already have a gift or another idea he will be delighted with that too.

The small man says thank you.

BLS or LBS ....oh feck it, can't remember. I'm the slightly more mature one!!!! said...

OK, here goes with a couple of ideas for my under 18's

Adjustable Single Pass Strap Khaki and Barley - 20 mm
NATO Strap White - 20 mm
SEAL Strap "James Bond" - 20 mm
NATO Strap British Racing Green - 20 mm

SBS has now had a look in the Lego catalogue. He would like Harry Potter Lego sets, except for Fantastic Beasts.

Our postal strike is over now, but the after effects of it are such that it is not worth trying to post anything from abroad to this direction at this stage. And if stuff arrives after Christamas while we're in England, it gets sent back before we have a chance to collect it!

We're planning to travel to England with justhand luggage so aren't in a position to carry much stuff over...

So bearing these things in mind I would suggest that if you would like to get somehing for our kids, please use a Finnish mail ordear company this coming week (But please, not later; I could help with that) or you could just transfer a small monetary contribution which I could spend on or combine towards a bigger a pressie for them.

I hope that's not too boring...

Mrs TOCO said...

As to my Kris Kindle wish I shall be very boring this year...

I would like to simply ask for money. I need both a new swimming costume and a pair of new dancing shoes, but (as I'm sure my KK understands) I really need to choose them myself (and most definitely also try them on before buying!!!) So if I could please have my half the pressie simply transferred to our account I'd be delighted!

I have a suspicion Mr TOCO might have a wish along similar lines...

A short girl like me,
Needs a platform so she can see,
A stepladder would be ideal,
But considerably more fashionable are these heels,
I know they're impractical in white,
Let's just hope I don't step in shite!
So please help a short girl out,
And order these before they're sold out!

(I'm a UK size 6 (39))
Thank you!

Assuming that I am correct in deciphering that the BIL (original) would like tickets to Dido for 2, could he please clarify whether he'd prefer to be standing or sitting?

There is a package addressed to LBS being delivered by Fastway Couriers.

This is a KK present from someone to someone else and should not be opened until further instruction......

It's at the local depot so could come any day now. I will post again with an updated status so we can be sure that this secret package is not mistaken for any other secret packages that may turn up!!

DCG (the old fella)

If my KK has a technical turn of mind he/she may be able to google for a set of miniature drill bits suitable for metal, sizes between 1mm and 2mm going up in semitones, no, sorry, 0.1mms. My attempts to search for same have produced some interesting information, mostly nothing to do with said drill bits. Bits for wood/plastic are easy to find, but for metal a BIT more difficult!
Sorry, no poetry this year, like the drill bits, BORING!

Dear KK,

I have been wracking my brain for a clever way to put in my request. I can't wait any more for inspiration so here goes in plain words.

This is the year of the the timepiece. I was given a Garmin style fitbit for my birthday. This has proved to be amazing. Its encouraged me to achieve a goal of around 10,000 steps each day and kept a track of distances run in what time. The net result is that I'm at least a stone lighter than this time last year, though I'm not sure where the weight has gone from. I still have my 'she had 5 babies' tum!!!
It has also shown me that I'm not properly awake in the night nearly as much as I thought I was. Very encouraging.
Oh yes and it tells the time too!

Then a few days after our Golden Wedding, we were presented with the most AMAZING clock ever. You lovely people clubbed together to give us the String Spring wall clock from Banyoles. We found a home for it immediately and its been clicking away ever since, reminding us of the most fabulous summer holiday ever. The fact that it doesn't even vaguely keep time is neither here nor there. Its just a lovely momento. Thanks very much.

But more recently BIL (Original) commented to me that he thought the fitbitty watch was rather unglamorous. So I have left it off when dressed up, which leaves me with no way of knowing the time.

So dear KKs, can you guess what this is leading up to?

Yes, you've got it. MAG would like a new, elegant timepiece. Battery operated, gold coloured, reasonably dainty, with an analogue face. I can tell the time without nos, but I leave it to you to choose, Roman, Arabic or whatever is prettiest. I have quite a small wrist, but I don't mind if it becomes more a bracelet, or it could have a leather strap.

AND if DCG's request doesn't take the full allocated amount, he has generously said the balance can be added to mine.

My next dressing up opportunity is somebody's forthcoming wedding. I do hope I've given enough notice for the impossible to become possible and I can wear my KK gift to said wedding.

Thanks and all my love.

to all the owners of under 18's.

I have today transferred money to each family to be used as follows.

Dear Mrs TOCO. Please will you divide money in bank by 4 and either buy something for each young person or give it to them to buy for themselves.
Cards have been sent for each, which I do hope will arrive before Christmas.

Dear Mrs VL, The same applies to you, but please will you buy something off their wish lists using 1/3 of the money sent to your bank for each. Again there is a card for each on its way.

Dear Mrs Kerryman's wife. Money will be transferred for you to add to the youngest grandsons bike thingy!!

Thank you all.

With my love.

I hope its not too much trouble. I'm sorry to leave it all so late to alert you. We've been very busy and had little time to think about blogging.

Not sure if the wedding couple are too busy to read this, but there is a random package arriving today, please do not open, but keep until we are all together after the big event, when all may become clear......

If anyone reads this can they please put this message on whatsapp, not sure it's possible to write there anonymously.

Twas the night before Christmas
And all through he house
Not a creature was stirring
Not even Tomás
The lights were left on for me with care
In the hopes that I soon would stumble up there

The O'Séas were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of disco lights danced in my head
I in my night out dress, just back from the club
Was just heading up to give my face a clean scrub

When down in the bathroom there was such a clatter
Clare springs from her bed to see what was the matter
She finds me searching for make up remover
To discover that there was none there

Sorry - I've been a little bit busy up until now with work. It must be Christmas...
Unlike my wife, I haven't had a chance to think about what I want let alone try to research it on the net... I also have a rather wonderful mother-in-law (aren't they all?) who has generously given me a cash birthday present, so when I have a chance I'll combine the two and come up with something. If it doesn't make it by christmas (and there's not much chance...) It doesn't really matter...

Anonymous said...

Could said horn player please let us know what he and his future wife would like...

MAG: Your kriskindlers are a bit worried about purchasing a smart wrist watch for you sight unseen, as this is such a personal thing and we're not sure up to the task... We would suggest it is better for you to look for and buy it yourself (and if neccesary ask one of you nearer, dearer daughters/sons-in-laws to wrap it in a nice chrismassy wrapping paper for you).

We will inform you of the amount left from DCG's present.

Horn Player said...

Dear KK, so sorry for not getting anything down sooner.

Here are a few suggestions, but as it is such late notice, if these are not practical, we would also be very happy with a contribution towards our life, post wedding.

GoPro HD Hero 7 White (This may be slightly over budget, but we would happily cover the difference. And actually if we were covering the difference it might be preferable to upgrade to the Hero 7 Silver and we would contribute a little more)

A night or two in a spa hotel for two.

A table football table for our new flat

That's all I can think of for now. Hope it helps!

Horn Player, any news on the parcel which should be at the wildlife trust?
