Under the bridge and home at last.

I'm finally back home after too many long hard weeks onboard "Liberty of the Seas".

The trip from out of the Baltic sea involves going under "Storebelts brua" or "The great belt bridge" which connects 2 parts of Denmark together. The worlds largest cruise ship is built with this in mind, and passes under at full speed, with the stabilisers pulling the boat down and clears with a mere 2 metres to spare. Spectacular to be on top, here are some photos for your appreciation.

Wow! Looks fun, but who pays if the captain presses the wrong button at the wrong time! Dive dive dive! comes to mind... 2 metres isn't much clearance - do they have to allow for tidal variations. It must have been slightly heart stopping the first time they did it (was this it?)

This is the second time for this class of vessel (I was onboard last time as well, I just never managed to get it on the blog).

The previous class was just as tall, and 5 of them have gone under so I guess it's all pretty routine now.
