Our Artificially inseminated boy Starsrpung Amazing Incident took a trip to the vets yesterday and carelessly came back missing 2 important reproductive parts.
It was a hard decision to take after all the investment in Anitra and so much time spent researching and praticing cat AI. So assuming that we do not succeed in having another litter from Anitra (which is unlikely), in terms of our breeding plans all that effort is wasted.
Amazing has some fantastic qualities, including stunning contrast, fantastically soft fur and a wonderful shape. On the other hand, in keeping with the breed standard and responsible breeding he also has a number of faults, especially the stripes behind his shoulders and a nose which is a little to dark.
A pity but that's life. What all this effort has given us is a most fantastic pet which will give us great pleasure every day for, hopefully, many years to come.
Amazing has also proved very successful with the judges at cat shows so we will continue to show him and hope that he will reach premier or international premier not too long after he moves into the adult castrated class.

BTW I was looking at the photo of the triumphant Triumph - are you going to splash out and clean the wheels/buy some suitable rims, cos in my opinion they let what looks otherwise a fantastic car down a little!
Aye, but he's been done because he's at risk of narrowing the gene pool by having so many kids....
The plan for the wheels on the Triumph is that they will be shot blasted and powder coasted, we also have new stickers for the trim pieces (which are not on in the photos...
Me-OWWW! Now he can settle down to being a plump lazy male... Speaking of male cats, have you heard that Nick has expanded the male population of his new abode with the addition of Edward Elgar?
Nick had asked us some advice on the matter, not sure if I helped or not, but sounds like he's made a decision then....
Nick has indeed upped the Y-chromosome quotient of the Beghan household (see comments above) and only the rigours of packing-moving-unpacking etc have prevented him from letting you know more about what's going on. Expect kitten blogging (or more likely emails) very shortly . . .
